What Does It Feel Like Being Kenny Blaq?
Well, It feels good. I feel blessed, Kenny Blaq has not changed from the Kehinde that he used to be. Kenny blaq is fame, Kenny blaq is everybody’s favorite but Kehinde is just one shy cute looking young man who is on the road to be successful.
Was there any time you were scared to perform?
Yeah!!!! Many times, even till now. Sometimes I’m always scared to perform especially when I have new jokes, I’m scared like, are these people going to feel it? I’m feeling it yeah, but its one thing for you to feel the joke and another thing for the audience to accept it. In Nigeria, people accept what they want to accept, it’s not about what is, it’s what they want to accept they will accept. So many times, I have stage fright but you know, with God’s grace I’m able to overcome.
What hidden talent do you have that people don’t know about?
I’m a motivational speaker
What is the craziest news the media has published about you?
That Kenny Blaq is still a virgin
Do you have plans to quit comedy?
I’ll try other things but I’m definitely not quitting comedy
Some people think your music comedy is becoming a “Thing”, is there anything new?
Yeah. We’ve added dance, we’ve added drama, word play and a lot of stand ups to it. So it’s coming out stronger better and we keep changing the game with the music comedy. We make sure that the music comedy is the head but it has lots of branches. So expect new approach to the music comedy soon.
What is the total turn out of your biggest show?
It depends on the filling station because total now, their fuel *Laughs!!!*. Let’s say over 6,000 at Eko hotel.
What is your greatest regret?
My mom didn’t get to see me perform before she died. I wish my mom was alive to see me this big. Now that i can afford to do all these things for her, she’s not here. So that’s one of my greatest regret.
What is your greatest motivation?
I think God is my greatest motivation, my environment is my motivation. When people say I can’t do it, it motivates me to do it. I like challenges, challenges makes me stronger.
What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear right now I think is the greatest fear of any celebrity which is to settle down with the right person. You know there are so many people we are not hearing from anymore because of situations like this. Settling down with the right person, the person who understands your craft who understands that you have to be 100 percent into what you’re doing and at the same time have time for your family. Settling down with that person that wants you to be there 24/7 is crazy you know. So the fear is settling down with the right person; Making the right choices.
What is the best advice your parents have ever given you?
Never change you for anything. Be you, be 100 percent you, the world wants to see who they want to see, but let the world see the “you” in what they want to see. Chee!!!
What is the hardest lesson you have learnt in life?
The hardest lesson I have learnt in life is that you can make it on your own, you don’t actually need anybody to carry you along. You can learn from them from a distance but find out that by the time you start learning on your own, start doing your own thing, those people will come to you. I remember growing up in the industry trying to meet these people and there was no attention, so I decided to make it on my own, like hustle on my own; be who I want to be and now everybody is my friend.
Is there more to Kenny Blaq than just singing and comedy?
There’s a lot more. My movie is coming out soon. I’m going to be doing my own movie soon. There’s a lot. I want to affect Ejigbo positively, I feel like they deserve a lot of me. Yes. There’s more coming out but I don’t want to unleash the beast yet, I want to take it step by step so people won’t use those words against me. It’s going to be a gradual process.
